Preloved Jumpsuits for #SecondHandSeptember
Preloved jumpsuits! Celebrating the last few days of #SecondHandSeptember. Jumpsuits are a game changer – making it simple to look well put together with minimum effort. You’re dressed in a jiffy. No mix and match required. Dress them up or down. Easy as. I have lived in mine this summer and now I’m on the lookout for a winter version.
Bear in mind you have to look past the quality of the sellers photos when shopping preloved. Look at ALL the photos for any given item, zoom in, check the measurements, call or email them if you need more information before purchasing. Most offer refunds, but you may need to cover the returns postage. And remember, if it doesn’t work for you, or if you only wear it a few times, you can just sell it on again. Yay! With preloved, you’re extending the lifespan of garments, saving money and, in many instances, supporting charities as you shop – as with the Ebay, Thrift+ and Oxfam items in this jumpsuit edit.
So how to style your jumpsuit as the temperature drops? Blazers are ideal overf a jumpsuit. Wear jacket sleeves pushed up or neatly rolled, or try a sleek leather jacket. Think contrast. If its a silky fluid number try a contrasting fabric like a denim or leather jacket on top. If its a wide-legged jumpsuit, contrast it with a snug fitting jacket or sweater.
Jumpsuits also look great with a turtleneck underneath. Kettlewell Colours do a great ‘silky roll neck’ (as worn by Alexa Chung) which comes in no less than 37 colours, so you can match or contrast to your heart’s content. Their ‘faux wrap top’ is a great ‘invisible’ base layer for under opened neck, wrap or V neck jumpsuits when you want more warmth. M&S & Uniqlo do great ultra fine long sleeved thermal base layers for the same purpose. No need to catch a cold.
Sleeveless and short sleeved jumpsuits look great with long sleeves underneath. I’m loving a black & white striped long-sleeved T under my black silk jumpsuit right now. It lends a whole new transeasonal vibe to my summer stalwart.
Hope you enjoy the edit. Which is your favourite?
