THOUGHT clothing – Sustainable Style Finds
I first discovered THOUGHT when I started actively searching for and prioritising ethical and sustainable fashion brands for myself and my styling clients, 5 years ago. Founded in 1995 originally known as Braintree clothing, I’ll be honest, it didnt immediately wow me, but a recent trip to the pretty Suffolk seaside town of Aldeburgh made me take a second look and I’d encourage anyone else to do the same!
I was browsing Joli in Aldeburgh, a treasure trove of independent design and came away with one perfectly cut, bright white T-shirt in soft organic cotton by THOUGHT. The white T-shirt is one of those ‘holy grail’ capsule wardrobe basics that sounds easy, but can be surprisingly hard to find. (I still hanker after a Calvin Klein one I wore in the States in the early 90s!) This mythical wardrobe staple can instantly refresh your style, pull together separates and reinvent less used formal pieces as day wear…but that’s another blog post.
So I decided to take a second look at THOUGHT and found lots more fantastic wardrobe staples in sustainable fabrics and great timeless design. Below is my edit of their summer sale, now 60% off. Favourites include.. slim cut navy pants, a tailored velvet blazer, a sleek denim skirt and of course, my perfectly cut T-shirt in white, black, navy and sorbet pink. Sizes run 8-18 and delivery and returns are free within the UK, so I am definitely adding THOUGHT to my stylist’s source book.
I hope you enjoy my SALES edit
Grey Velvet Blazer, £54
Great if you’re a Summer or Winter colouring. I’d wear it with the white T-shirt, jeans and Veja sneakers.
